A youth-led foundation born from lifelong exposure to stroke care, a love for Tucson, and a desire to improve access for underserved communities.
Alex has been exposed to the field of stroke treatment his whole life through his father’s career as a neuroendovascular surgeon in Southern Arizona. That exposure made him aware that many non-English-speaking citizens face real challenges recognizing stroke, navigating emergency care, and reaching time-sensitive treatment.
Those realities, combined with his love for Tucson and its people, made stroke awareness a natural way to serve a community he cares about in a field he aspires to join.
Spotlight on Stroke is beginning as a founder-led community education initiative focused on practical, culturally aware outreach. As the foundation grows, it can expand to include advisors, volunteers, community partners, and formal programming.
